The Telsztone Kollel – founded in 2021 – is located in Telzstone, a small and beautiful town in the mountains surrounding Yerushalayim and home to a growing community of young Bnei Torah.
The Kollel was founded with the unique objective of learning the whole Shas – an Amud of Gemara a day, and with the vision and plan of creating a place not only for Limud HaTorah, but also for acquiring, remembering and internalizing it.
The Kollel attracted 26 of the most prominent yungeleit, raising the level of Yedi’as haTorah (knowledge of the Torah) and Ahavas haTorah (the love of Torah) and has greatly impacted the entire community.
Rabbi Gershon Bertman Shlit”a, is a Talmid Chacham with a passion for Harbatzas HaTorah, through giving Shiurim, and writing Seforim in various areas of Gemara and Halacha.
Born in Los angeles and raised in Yerushalayim Rabbi Bertman is an alumnus of The Chevron Yeshiva, where he was privileged to be in close contact with the Mashgiach Harav Avraham Salomon zt’l, and the Roshei HaYeshiva HaRav Dovid Cohen Shlit”a and HaRav Moshe Mordechai Farbstein Shlit”a.
Learning Halacha B’iyun in ‘The Jerusalem Kollel’, he received Semicha from HaRav Yitzchak Berkovitz Shlit”a, as well as from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. Following that he spent many years learning in The Mir-Yeshivah Kollel, as well as being a Maggid Shiur in Yeshivas Toras Yisroel.
Rabbi bertman gives Shiurim and Chaburos in the Kollel, using his talent in explaining the most difficult Sugyos with great clarity. He oversees the daily learning in the Kolell, answers the questions, and inspires and elevates the Yungeleit in many different ways.

In The Kollel we learn a new Amud of Gemara each day in great depth and clarity, with the goal of finishing more and more Masechtos in the Talmud Bavli, and to ultimately create Shas Yidden – made in Telzstone!
The 26 Yungeleit experience a strong sense of accomplishment as they advance in their Torah knowledge and cover more Masechtos in Shas.
Once a week the Rosh Kollel delivers a Chabura, giving a deaper understanding on a topic learned that week.
The Kollel is fortunate to have many guest speakers who enhance the learning experience, and the spiritual growth of the Yungeleit.
The Yungeleit are tested on a weekly and monthly basis and achieve remarkable results. One of the highlights of the Kollel are the famous ‘Masechta Tests’ where the Yungeleit are tested on a whole Masechta at once!
